Who AM I?
I am just a 15 year old girl who wants to get her life together by incorporating a mix of fitness and intuitive eating in her routine….
Welcome to HEALTHCLASS by Zade Markel! HEALTHCLASS is a blog of a teen girl’s (me!) opinion on fitness and diet culture. Throughout HEALTHCLASS’ journey, I will be trying popular workout classes/methods and diets to record my experience. I will also be interviewing nutritionists, fitness trainers, and teens who have their own stories and advice!
Before reading my blogs, here is a little bit more about the formulation of HEALTHCLASS:
Although I may seem to have a positive relationship with food and fitness, I used to suffer from an eating disorder for 1.5yrs, and solely worked out to lose the calories I ate that day. Little did I know that restricting myself from high calorie and “unhealthy” foods would only make me unsatisfied at the end of the day and binge eat. However, when I started working out in the mindset of trying feel healthier and stronger, and ate foods that fueled me and I craved, I finally began to feel my best self. Therefore, I had the idea to create HEALTHCLASS in attempt to not only put my own opinion on diet and fitness culture, but provide a helping hand to other teens who don’t have a great relationship with food and/or movement.
Outside of working on HEALTHCLASS: I am currently a student at the Packer Collegiate Institute, in the 10th grade (15yrs old). I love singing and songwriting as I accompany myself on the guitar and piano. I also love dancing at Downtown Dance Factory where I take lyrical, ballet, and jazz.
